FAQs

Where do you make your food?

All of our food is prepared in a Northern Health certified commercial kitchen in Telkwa, BC.

What type of payment do you accept?

For online orders you can pay online with a credit card, PayPal or gift card. All delivery orders made online must be paid with credit card or gift card at the time of ordering. We accept credit card, e-transfer, cheque and cash for catering orders (instructions provided on an invoice will be emailed to you).

Can I buy a gift certificate? / How can I use my gift certificate?

You can purchase gift cards in our online store. When you purchase a gift card you will be emailed your unique code to be used in our online store. If you are purchasing the gift card for someone else, you can either forward the email to them or print out your email and send it to them in a card!

If you would like to apply your gift card towards a catered event or a curated meal, please send us an email.

Can I order Vegan or Gluten free food?

Of course! Most of our soups and dips, dressing and salads are already gluten free and we are always happy to accommodate these requests with some prior notice for any of the other meals we offer. We use the letters “V” and “GF” in our online store to indicate if an item is Vegan and/or Gluten Free. We will do our best to accommodate most requests but we cannot guarantee that cross contamination will not occur in preparation, despite our best efforts to prevent it.

What if I have an allergy?

We can easily accommodate most common allergies. We are a nut-friendly kitchen, but we do our absolute best to make sure there is no cross-contamination. Email us if you have any questions about an allergy.

How do I cook the items I ordered?

We generally list heating instructions on our frozen, ready-to-bake items. All of our dips, dressings and salads are meant to be served cold or recently brought to room temperature.

How long does my food last?

Fresh food is best eaten within a few days of preparation, but sometimes it’s nice to save items for later. Frozen, ready-to-bake items are good for two months in the freezer before cooking. Soups, salads, dips and dressings are good for one week in the fridge. Leftover soup can be frozen for up to one month. Cooked fresh meals, special dinners and charcuterie boards are good in the fridge for up to five days from pick up. Baked goods like cookies are shelf stable for up to one week and granola, if sealed in a clean container or bag, can last up to two months. Remember that using a clean utensil in your jars and containers extends the shelf life of your food!

Where else can I buy Riverside Kitchen Co. food?

In addition to orders made directly through our online store, we sell ready-to-eat food at Bugwood Coffee, granola and baking at ReJar Zero Waste, Nature’s Pantry and a variety of provisions at Bulkley Valley Wholesale. Also, if you are in Burns Lake you can find our products at the Greenzone Health Food Store.

Can I recycle my containers?

Keeping as many materials out of the landfill is really important to us! You can return your glass jars and we will sanitize and re-purpose them. You can also use them to refill with your favourite ingredients at ReJar Zero Waste! All other packing is reusable, compostable or recyclable.
